The custom short pulse fiber amplifiers from Laser Impulse are tailored to best suite the external laser source when amplifying ultrashort pulses in the fs to ps range or longer pulses in the ns to µs range. For ultrashort pulse amplifiers the required amplified pulse length and peak power level determines the best amplifier architecture, i.e., direct amplification for more moderate output peak powers or chirped pulse amplification for extremely high peak power levels. With properly selected fiber types average power levels up to tens of Watts can be reached (limited by a combination of pulse length, repetition rate and in some cases pulse bandwidth). The repetition rate of the amplified pulses can span a very wide range between single pulse to hundreds of MHz or even GHz. The majority of our amplifiers operate with a center wavelength around 1µm but we deliver amplifiers also in the eye safe wavelength range around 1.5 µm
